Fall Sports Finish Successful Seasons

Durham, N.C. - The fall sports teams had one of the most successful seasons in NCSSM Athletics history.  As the Unicorns moved up from the NCHSAA 1A to 2A, the results continued to remain high.  NCSSM took five Northern Carolina 2A conference championships, two regional titles and a state championship.  Four coaches were also named conference Coach of the Year in their sport by their peers.  Here are updates from all of the teams:

Men's and Women's Cross Country - The impressive season concluded with a NCHSAA 2A State Championship, Regional Championship and a Northern Carolina Championship from the Men's Cross Country team while the Women's team took a conference championship and had a strong 10th place team finish in the state meet.  The NCSSM men were led by Josh Rees-Jones (16:13.05), Nicholas Walker (16:15.27) and Chatham Ellwanger (16:23.21) finishing second, third and fifth in the boys’ 5K.
