Durham, N.C. - The NCSSM Athletic Department is hosting a Play 4Kay doubleheader "pink" basketball game on Wednesday, February 5 against Southern Vance (updated). Both the women's and men's basketball teams will be wearing special uniform shirts trimmed in pink and other accessories. A representative from the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is expected to attend with educational materials and an opportunity to donate to the fund. The women's game will begin at 6pm and the men's game to follow at 7:30pm. Please be sure to come to cheer on the UNIs and wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. Admission is $5, students and staff get in free.
The 2014 Play 4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2.5 million to support women's cancer research.
